Information About The Fakahatchee Excursions
Join Dennis Goodman Photography, Inc. as we partner with Friends of the Fakahatchee (a not-for-profit organization benefitting the Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park) to explore the Everglades in Southwest Florida and photograph its majestic beauty. See and experience first-hand the beauty of the Everglades and the Fakahatchee Strand on foot on a guided excursion to capture rare orchids, plants, wildlife, birds and maybe even take a swamp walk.

For the seasoned and experienced photographer, you will enjoy some of the very best photo opportunities you could possibly imagine. The wildlife here in SW Florida is some of the most exciting in the world. As a photographer, adventurer and explorer for more than 20 years on the Southwest Florida coast, Dennis’s easy going and friendly personality will assure you the very best that photo excursions and eco-tourism has to offer. You may see a variety of unique swamp wildlife including bald eagles, red-shouldered hawks, deer, snakes, ibis, vultures, owls, alligators, wading birds, shorebirds, herons, osprey, cormorants, anhingas, belted king-fisher and even an occasional robin when the weather in the North is cold.

This vast wilderness is a mosaic of royal palm stands, cypress domes, and grassy prairies dotted with wild bromeliads, native ferns, and orchids. The park’s wildlife includes a number of threatened and endangered species. The Florida panther, wood stork, Florida black bear, mangrove fox squirrel, and Everglades mink have all been seen within the preserve. The Fakahatchee Strand has much to offer those with outdoor interests. Every season presents different opportunities for wildlife and plant viewing. *In the spirit of true eco-tourism, a portion of the course fee is going to directly benefit Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park.
