Rendered in black and white, Everglades 19 places a vast field of marsh grass beneath monumental billowing clouds. Bright highlights within the cloud formations stand dramatically against the darker sky, while the flat horizon emphasizes the enormous scale of the landscape. Subtle textures throughout the grasses keep the lower portion visually detailed without competing with the atmosphere above. The monochrome presentation creates a powerful study of weather over Florida’s wetlands.
