Jekyll Island 24 moves extremely close to the weathered remains of a coastal tree, filling the frame with sweeping grain, knots, cracks, and sun-bleached wood. Twisted trunks overlap in several directions, transforming the natural subject into a nearly abstract landscape of texture. Subtle brown, gray, and silver tones reveal the effects of years spent exposed to salt, wind, and water. The image celebrates the intricate beauty found within the smallest details of Jekyll Island’s driftwood.
