Painted Bunting 1 finds the tiny bird perched among long green leaves, where its saturated colors immediately separate it from the vegetation. A deep blue head transitions into a brilliant red chest, with touches of green and yellow adding even greater variety to the plumage. Vertical leaves surround the bunting, giving the photograph the feeling of a hidden tropical encounter. Its compact scale and extraordinary coloring make the bird the unmistakable center of the scene.
